On December 4, 2009, at 7:00 pm, Absolute Radio 80s went live in the UK. The national digital station, which is part of Absolute Radio Network, replaced Absolute Xtreme. It plays 1980s music and began its marketing with targeted sampling at various 80s events. Every Friday, the station has a live 80s show with Claire Sturgess hosting. The Dave Berry Breakfast Show is a simulcast on Absolute 80s. Forgotten 80s with Matthew Rudd on Sunday nights features lesser-known songs from the era.
