BBC Radio 4

BBC Radio 4 is a British commercial network run and managed by BBC. The station, a successor of Radio 4 first aired on September 30, 1967. The station’s audibility is throughout UK, eastern Ireland and North of Europe by LW, northern France, Ireland and Isle of Man. The station broadcasts in stereo on Sky, Freeview, Freesat and Virgin and virtually through BBC sounds.

The station airs an array of programmes including drama shows, news, cultural programs, history events, science, and comedy shows. The headquarters location is London at Broadcasting House. Live recordings include magazine shows such as Woman’s Hour and culture program Front Row. Documentaries correlated with a variety of famous and classic hits are aired including Desert Island Discs, a long music list. Some programs are available for download as podcasts and audio files. The station in 2011 May registered its peak number of listeners at 11 million and falls second after Radio 2 in popularity.
