Metro Radio

Metro Radio Newcastle is a regional radio station for the North East of England. The station first went on air on July 15, 1974. The station can be heard across Tyne & Wear, with its signal reaching into Durham, Northumberland, South Shields, Sunderland, and Gateshead too. It broadcasts on FM, DAB Digital Radio, online, and via mobile phone app. Metro plays a mix of chart hits from across the decades as well as current pop music and dance anthems to suit all tastes. Their slogan is "The Biggest Hits More Music", and their target demographic is young urban adults. The station's most popular show is Steve & Karen's Breakfast Show, hosted by Steve Furnell and Karen Oxley from 6-10 am, Monday through Friday.
